Scott Technology to purchase Transbotics

By Mike Oitzman | May 31, 2018

Scott Technology now has in-house expertise on AGV solutions.

May 31 (via BusinessDesk) –

The Board of Scott Technology Ltd (SCOTT) is pleased to announce that the company has reached a conditional agreement to purchase the business assets and intellectual property of Transbotics Corporation (Transbotics) a US based AGV (automated guided vehicle) manufacturer, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Scott Technology

According to Scott Technology, our vision is to build a “complete end-to-end offering for the overall production process from raw material receipt to final distribution.” Further more: “The acquisition of Transbotics is consistent with SCOTT’s acquisition strategy of accelerating market access, while providing us with skills and technologies faster and at a lower cost than doing it ourselves.”

The acquisition will add the 30 people from Transbotics to the 700 international staff of Scott Automation, and enable them to be more competitive in project which require AGV solutions while “removing the risk and cost associated with outsourcing”.

Brazilian meat processor JBS owns 50.7 percent of Scott Technology.

The deal is expected to close, pending shareholder approval, on June 1, 2018
