Swisslog Healthcare North America announces new President, North America

By Mike Oitzman | April 3, 2018

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (April 2, 2018) – Today, Swisslog Healthcare CEO Stephan Sonderegger announced the new President of Swisslog Healthcare North America: Cory Kwarta.  Kwarta, 38, will lead the North American operations of a Colorado-based, global company whose mission is to increase the efficiency and quality of care in forward-looking health systems. Sonderegger will remain in Denver as global CEO of Swisslog Healthcare.

“For the past ten years, Cory has taken on progressive leadership positions at Swisslog Healthcare. He has served in customer care, operations and project management, and for the past three years, as a member of our executive leadership team,” said Sonderegger.

“Cory is a highly ethical, results-oriented and customer-centric leader who is committed to our vision, our company and our team members,” Sonderegger continued. “He is the right person to lead the North American team at Swisslog Healthcare, the global leader in inpatient pharmacy robotic automation, as the company invests in pharmacy software, analytics and solutions.”

With more than 1,200 employees across the globe and 450 in North America, Swisslog Healthcare is a leading supplier of pharmacy automation products and services that help hospitals and post-acute care facilities automate pharmacy operations, manage inventory, transport materials and improve safety. The company has more than 2,300 hospital clients in the U.S.

In 2018, Swisslog Healthcare moved from Denver to Broomfield, where the company is building an 80,140-square foot, state-of-the-art technology center and automation academy. There, customers will be trained on how to use robotic technology to improve hospital efficiency.

“I am honored and thrilled to be selected to lead the North American business of Swisslog Healthcare and look forward to launching new initiatives that further empower pharmacies and contribute to improving human health,” Kwarta said.

Kwarta has a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Denver. He has served as a volunteer youth lacrosse coach and Big Brother, and most recently, provided pro bono professional services to support Project C.U.R.E. He lives in Denver with his wife and two children.
